Having developed a previous e-commence website for Bradbury Tracks in 2007, I was commissioned to work alongside the company's graphic design firm (Sentonic) to develop a new online store for the company in 2013.
While keen to use existing open-source e-commerce software in order to provide the most cost-effective solution, I was aware that none could quite meet the client's specific requirements. So, after selecting Magento (and add-on modules) as the best fit, I also wrote custom code to provide the additional functionality required. Developed in a modular fashion, this meant that updates could be applied to the base platform without needing to modify the custom elements each time.
The new site allows customers to order bespoke curtain poles and curtain tracks without the need for a salesperson to visit their homes - giving Bradbury Tracks a competitive advantage.
