South London Vegan Drinks launched in Tooting

Around 100 people attended the launch of London Vegan Meetup's latest monthly event - South London Vegan Drinks at Tooting's Sound Lounge.

And this brand new, multi-purpose restaurant / bar / music venue has so much in common with Kabaret at Karamel, the current home of London Vegan Drinks - from the music and food loving couple that run the place, to the eclectic art on the walls.

Founded in 2011, London Vegan Drinks has already become London's biggest monthly vegan social event (having already outgrown two previous venues). But South London Vegan Drinks has been a long time coming! London Vegan Drinks founder FatGayVegan was considering such a venture back in 2014. And after taking over the main event from him towards the end of that year, London Vegan Meetup has had false starts with two separate venues.

However, when the Sound Lounge opened just a few weeks ago, we saw the perfect opportunity to bring the North London experience down south. Like London Vegan Meetup, the Sound Lounge is a social enterprise - with everything they do for the community, by the community.

South London Vegan Drinks will be repeated on the second Thursday of every month at the Sound Lounge, with London Vegan Drinks continuing on the first Saturday of every month at Karamel.
