Theresa May to campaign to leave the European Convention on Human Rights

Despite the government's previous assurances to the contrary, Theresa May now plans to put withdrawal from the European Convention on Human Rights at the heart of the Conservative's 2020 general election campaign.

With the forthcoming repeal of the Human Rights Act, this would means that vegan seeking protection from discrimination would no longer be able to do so in either the UK's domestic courts or the European Court of Human Rights, but would instead need to turn to the United Nations Human Rights Committee in order to have them enforce the UK's obligations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

This is why it's vital that any Bill Of Rights affords vegans the same level of protection as the current Human Rights Act.
